December in Bloom

 A look back at 2018.

This month I made 9 types of cookies, pounds upon pounds of candied pecans, and these laborious but delish dark chocolate caramel almonds. Now we’re on a great Florida road trip with a backseat stacked with tins and jars. We’re taking the backroads so we can count sandhill cranes and spot the best old cracker houses.  Thanks so much to all of you for inspiring me to make, create, capture, share, and preserve. I hope you all have happy holidays filled with family, friends, and lots of good food. Here’s to more of the same in 2019!

Happy 2019 to you, too! It was great chatting the other day. 🙂

Thanks for the encouragement, Misti! I can’t believe I did a podcast. That was a big leap out of my comfort zone, and I’m so glad we made it happen. Can’t wait to follow along on your hikes and gardening in 2019!

Fabulous look-back on the year. Made us smile. And, I must say, you exceeded perfection on the candied pecans. There is a hint of orange…? They are the best ever! And the laborious, delish, EGGLESS dark chocolate caramel almonds are a labor of sweet thoughtfulness. You are amazing, and I really look forward to your posts. Merry Christmas to you both!!

Yep, I zested oranges in the pecans! I’m so happy you like them. I’ll be glad when I give away the last jar because they’re my weakness. Thanks so much for being so supportive and also for all you do for us all year. I hope you and Terry have a great Christmas!
